Spring is here and with that the City of Superior is reminding all residents and visitors to observe safe driving strategies on all roadways and particularly in work zones.
Several citizens have recently broached concerns to Superior officals regarding U-turns on city streets in the downtown area. Municipal Code 71.040 states that:
“No vehicle shall be turned so as to proceed in the opposite direction, except at a street intersection. No vehicle shall be turned so as to proceed in the opposite direction at any intersection where an automatic signal is in operation, or where a sign is posted indicating that U-turns are prohibited.”
This means motorists making a U-turn must perform it in an intersection and not mid-block. Additionally U-turns cannot be performed in those areas where a sign is posted indicating that they are prohibited.
