RHHS track in season opener

The Rock Hills high School boys and girls track and field teams opened their 2023 season at the Bennington Invitational, Friday.

The boys team in 11th place, with 20 points, in the 13 team field. The girls team finished tied for 11th place with 7 points.

Other teams competing at the meet were Frederic-Remington, Clifton-Clyde, Bennington, Eli-Saline, Lincoln, Tescott, Wakefield School, Rural Vista, St. John’s, Canton-Galva, Harrington and Wilson.

The top six finishers in individual events earn team points.

Spencer Lindberg ran the 200 meter dash for the Rock Hills boys team.

Kobi Bowers competed in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:20.87 for seventh place.

Bowers earned the fifth place points in the 1600 meter run with his time of 5:18.45. Tristyn Reynolds was in seventh place with a time of 5:24.73. Coe Neilson finished the race with his time of 5:51.9.

Reynolds finished seventh in the 3200 meter run with his time of 12:09.99.

Lindberg was in second place at the end of the 300 meter hurdles with his time of 48.37 seconds.

Aaron Underwood took seventh in the shot put with his toss of 37’11”. Wyatt Evert had a toss of 34”7.5”.

Evert was in eighth place in the discus with his throw of 114’9”. Underwood had a throw of 103’1”. Lindberg recorded a throw of 77’1”.

Evert held down fourth place in the javelin with his thgrow of 121’11”. Cooper McDill and Isaiah Ridgeway throws of `109’9” each.

Nate Meyers landed third place in the long jump with a leap of 18’7.5”. Ridgeway was in seventh place with a distance of 17’9”. McDill had a jump of 16”7.25”.

Grace Ayers had a time of 14.12 seconds for the 100 meter dash.

Ayers took seventh place in the 200 meter dash with her time of 29.79 seconds.

Peyton Zadina listed a time of 3:37.24 for the 800 meter run.

Carsyn Vizner threw the javelin 71’8”. Halle Mizner has a throw of 47’6”.

Mizner cleared the bar at 4’5” to earn a fourth place finish in the high jump.

Lauren Whelchel was in fourth place in the pole vaul with her 7’6” effort

Trinity Ruthstrom covered the distance of 8’7.5 for the long jump

Vizner recorded a distance of 25’1.5” for the triple jump. Ruthstrom posted a distance of 22’7”.

The team comped at the St. John’s Invitational at Beloit Tuesday with meet results unavailable at press time.
