Superior utility bills contain natural gas rate billing error

It has been a bad news-good news week for City of Superior utilities customers. As March ended the city’s natural gas customers received bigger than expected bills which some dismissed as being a result of colder weather or perhaps a carryover from last year’s artic event which sent the price of natural gas soaring.

The good news came about Monday noon when the following statement was published on a city website: “An error was made when calculating the March 31 utility bills. The unit commodity charge (PGA) was entered incorrectly. Bills have been re-calculated and all gas customers will see a reduced charge. Hard copy bills mailed last week will be incorrect due to this. Bills have been recalculated and by Tuesdaymorning the correct bill will be available to be viewed at http://www.cityofsuperior.org or you can call us at 402-879-4711. We apologize for any inconvenience.
