Members of the Superior Area Choir, under the direction of Teresa Christensen, plan to present "The Way, The Truth, The Life, The Door," a resurrection celebration by Dennis and Nan Allen, Sunday afternoon at the First United Methodist Church in Superior. The first performance will begin at 3 p.m. and the second at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The performance will last about 40 minutes.
Several soloists, in period costume, will portray significant characters and tell the story of Jesus Christ's last days on earth. Stephanie Thayer will represent Mary, Arnold Miller - Jesus; John Price Jr. - Judas; Bob Trapp - Pilate.
The plot starts in Jerusalem - the city of light and hope and moves through Palm Sunday, Mary's anointing Christ with perfume, Judas's negotiations with the Jewish religious leaders, the last supper, the mob crying for Jesus's crucifixion, Jesus's death and resurrection.
Members of the choir are sopranos: Margaret Brittenham, Natalie Faust, Marlene McGowan; altos: Rita Blauvelt, Sandra Schendt, Stephanie Thayer, DeAnna Tuttle, Vicki Williams; tenors: Arnold Miller, Chuck Tuttle, Gale Anne Aurand; basses: John Price Jr., Orlyn Renz, Bob Trapp, Rob Williams and Rod Deuel.
Jacki Porter is the pianist and Ethan Feistner is the narrator. Costumes have been constructed by Laurie Corman and Gail Anne Aurand.
