Saturday 24 students from Superior Public Schools attended the 2023 Nebraska NASP State Tournament in Lincoln. Owen Perrie was Superior' highest scoring archer. He shot 10 - tens and scored a 269. Perrie ranked 25 out of 107 high school boys, and 10 out of 35 twelfth grade boys.
The second highest scorer was Danny Fuller, a seventh grade student, who shot eight - tens and scored a 262. He ranked 14 out of 172 middle school boys and third out of 54 seventh grade boys.
Third high scorer was Jade Ahrens, shooting seven - tens and scoring a 258. She placed 31 out of 121 high school girls and 13 out of 30 12th grade girls.
Easton Payton shot seven - tens and scored a 242. He ranked 45 out of 172 middle school boys and 12th out of 72 sixth grade boys.
Lendon Worm and Owen Perrie also competed in SACO duels. SACO is a dueling style flip paddle target. Two different teams will compete at the same time to get the paddle target shot. If shot hard enough, the target will flip to the opposing team's side. The top teams earned a cash prize. Nineteen schools entered a team. The Superior team tied for third place and earned the school's archery program $150.
