Cell phone tower being constructed in southwest Hardy

The Village of Hardy holds the distinction of being the first community the Lincoln Telephone Company converted to dial service.

And now the community is getting its own cell phone tower. Viaero Wireless has reached an agreement with the Village of Hardy and has agreed to purchase a plot of land in the southwest edge of the village where the community’s water treatment plant was located.

At the recent meeting of the town board, it was reported materials were arriving on the site and construction of the tower would be beginning.

The community’s current wired telephone company now offers high speed internet service through a network that utilizes fiber optic lines.
