Lawrence-Nelson High School had several students place in the top 10 including: Thomas Safago (12th Grade) - 1st Place - Geometry, 4th Place - Constitution, and 9th Place - American Government, Rocky Miller (11th Grade).
On March 15, 28 Lawrence-Nelson students attended Actions Day at Central Community College in Hastings. Students were nominated by the teaching staff to earn their spot in this academic competition. All students competed in three different academic areas of study. In total there were 40 different subject area tests. Other area schools attend this event.
