Sunday proved to be a banner day for the Nelson Library. The pulled pork lunch fundraiser was an outstanding success! The staff, board of directors and volunteers thank the community for the support of the library activities and the success of this fundraiser!
With the help of Thrivent to purchase food supplies, John and Piper Hodge to prepare the meat, donations of dessert from staff, board and volunteers, the pulled pork sandwich meal was popular with those attending.
The funds will be used in conjunction with the Youth in Excellence grant. The Youth in Excellence grant supports the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program recently enacted by the library, as well as an after-school program which is in the planning stages at this time. Funds may also be used for the highly successful summer reading program.
The Nelson Library staff and board appreciate the support of the community. With community help, Nelson will have a public library to be proud of for years to come.
