The Lawrence-Nelson girls basketball team saw their path to the district finals blocked by Shelton. The one-loss Bulldogs put an end to the Raiders' hopes with a 65-18 walloping at Shelton Friday.
Lawrence-Nelson earned their way into the sub-district D-2 6 final when they downed Heartland Lutheran 50-30 at Shelton last Tuesday. The Raiders opened up a 30-13 halftime lead and cruised to the win.
Shelton has lost one game all season and is a favorite to win the D-2 championship at state.
Katelyn Mazour led the Raiders against Heartland Lutheran with 21 points, Sydney Biltoft netted 12 points. Hanna Skinner accounted for eight points. Josie Hajny and Jessica Sole added four points each. Addi McClsokey scored one point. McCloskey nailed down eight rebounds. Mazour posted seven rebounds. Skinner nabbed six rebounds. Biltoft listed four rebounds. Hajny had two rebounds. Sole retained one rebound.
Statistics were unavailable for the Shelton game. The Raiders completed th season with a 6-17 record. For Katelyn Mazour and Emily Troudt, the Shelton game was their last as a Raider.
