Fourth Annual Kansas Mammoth Festival this summer

The 4th annual Kansas Mammoth Art and Music Festival will take place the weekend of June 16 and 17 in Mankato. The mission of the Kansas Mammoth Festival is to promote music and art in our rural community and by doing so, enhancing the quality of life for all who attend.

Through shared cultural experiences and the building of partnerships, we seek to create a substantial economic impact in Jewell County. The organizers’ efforts culminate a free two-day music and art festival for all ages the third weekend of June.

The concept for the festival came to life as part of an economic development strategic committee for Jewell County. It was at that time that the need for entertainment for the county was discussed. It was also decided to use the “Mammoth” as an identifier for the county since many Columbian Mammoth bones have been unearthed in various parts of Jewell County.

The Mammoth Festival continues to grow and gain popularity each year. The organizers have written several grants and held many fundraisers to help fund the festival. The festival is free thanks to the generous donations and gifts from people and businesses.

The Kansas Mammoth Festival is now a 501(c)3 organization and all donations of $250 or more are tax deductible.
