Vestey Festival has urgent leadership need

With the surprise resignation of the Superior Chamber of Commerce manager, the need for volunteers to assist with the 2023 rendition of the annual Vestey Fesitval has taken on an added degree of urgency.

In the weeks preceding the festival, the planning and organizing of the festival has become a nearly full-time job for the chamber manager. While the festival has from the beginning been a big part of the chamber manager’s job, the responsibility has increased over the years.

A planning meeting has been scheduled for Monday noon in the chamber of commerce office.

Teresa Erickson and Kendra Morris, on behalf of the Superior Chamber of Commerce board, attended Monday evening’s meeting of the Superior City Council.While the chamber is taking applications for a manager, they said even if a new manager is hired before the festival, it is unreasonable to expect that person on short notice to do what Cameron Vyzourek has been doing for the festival.
