Tami Sharp was installed as the Nuckolls County treasurer on Jan. 5, 2023. She succeeded Vicki Ensign who opted not to run for reelection after 40 years of service in that office.
Sharp graduated from Lucas-Luray High School. She attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for one year.
She has been married to Lance Sharp for 27 years. They have two children: a daughter, Gabriel, who resides in Fairbury, and a son, Jacob, who is attending Hastings College.
Sharp has served as the administrator for Kingswood Court and Victorian Legacy in Superior as well as working for Cornerstone Bank in Guide Rock.
Sharp was seeking a career change. She decided to run for the office of county treasurer. She defeated her opponent in the May, 2022 Republican primary. As there was no Democratic opponent, she won the office in November.
Sharp enjoys camping in her spare time. She and Lance are looking forward to the arrival of their first grandchild in April. She was noncommittal when asked if she would seek to serve in the office for more than 40 years as her predecessor did.
