Before the year is out, South Central Public Power District plans to break ground for the construction of a new building at Clay Center. It will be used to store supplies and equipment and provide additional office space and a meeting room. When finished it will allow South Central to discontinue use of the downtown Clay Center warehouse.
The new building will be constructed south of the district’s current office building along Highway 14 that was constructed in the 1970s.
While the building will contain offices, there will be no public office hours at Clay Center. The main office in Nelson will continue to maintain public office hours.
