We all know by now that I’m not fond of winter, but this blanket of white mother nature draped over everything sure is pretty. It’s a less depressing landscape to gaze upon, at the very least. I feel for those who have to work out in the weather. I don’t know how they do it; I can’t seem to keep warm inside fully dressed. I dread going out, and out is where I long to be. Only two more months until spring!
I was supposed to have the annual mammogram on Wednesday, the day of our big snowstorm. To be on the safe side, I rescheduled it for Friday. Let me tell you, if you are ever disappointed with the way our roads are cleared, just take a trip to a bigger community after a storm. You will gain a new appreciation for our local snow crews. That was a mess!
In an attempt to eat healthier and save a buck or two, I made homemade oatmilk this week. I’ve got to say, I’m not a fan! The recipe definitely needs a few adjustments or a complete rewrite. I suppose in time I will get used to it, but I do miss real milk! On a side note, I was cleaning out the pantry, and the guys left an empty box of Lucky Charms. As I was tossing it in the bin, I noticed in big letters at the bottom of the box, it says Gluten Free! Oh my! I was so mad. I’ve been missing out on my favorite cereal all this time because I can’t read! Oh well, I don’t think it would be the same with oat milk.
I’ve been thinking I need a project because I have cabin fever like no other. I’m thinking of tackling our bedroom. It’s dull and boring, and a catch-all for the things I can’t throw out but have yet to find a home for. None of the furniture matches. It’s more utilitarian than anything, and honestly, it’s a bedroom, so who cares. As far as projects go, it’s one I can do myself and fairly cheap. I think I will paint the dressers, purchase new pulls for the drawers and give the ceiling fan and light a bit of a facelift.
I hear we have more cold and more white stuff in the forecast, so I will continue to hide in the house as much as possible. For those of you who can not avoid the weather, stay warm, stay safe, and thank you for all you do to keep the world turning. X’s & O’s.
