This week many Nebraska business firms will be filing their December sales tax reports as the last day to do so without penalty is Friday. And the Nebraska Department of Revenue has released a statewide report of sales for the month of October.
October appears to have been a good month for many Nuckolls County businesses. When compared to the previous year, sales were up 12.1 percent from $3.24 million to more than $3.63 million. They were even better for Superior based businesses. Those businesses report a sales increase of 19.3 percent rising from $2.07 million to nearly 2.5 million.
Not all reports were as bright.
Adams County sales increased only one tenth of a percent to $38,98,115.
Clay County sales grew 2.3 percent to $2.028 million. Sutton businesses reported a sales increase of 4.8 percent to slightly more than $1.077 million.
Thayer County sales were 8 percent to nearly $2.782 million. Hebron sales were up 3 percent to nearly $1.528 million.
Webster County sales declined 2 percent to slight more than $1,653 million. Red Cloud sales dropped 3.1 percent to $808,427.
Fillmore County was the real barn burner with a sales increase of 27.5 percent to $4,071 million. Geneva sales were up 17.4 percent to nearly $2.519
