The Lawrence-Nelson boys basketball team downed the Giltner Hornets at Giltner, 46-38, Thursday. The McCool Junction Mustangs rode into Nelson Friday, to play the game postponed from Tuesday because of inclement weather conditions. Lawrence-Nelson was edged out, 46-43, by the McCool Junction team. The Raiders traveled to Mankato, Tuesday, for a contest with Rock Hills High School. Game results were unavailable at press time.
Neither team mustered much in the way of offense in the first quarter as the Raiders trailed Giltner 4-3. The game remained close as the Raiders held a slim 14-13 lead at the halfway mark. The Raiders opened up the lead in the third quarter with the score 31-22. Lawrence-Nelson fended off the Hornets to record their fourth win of the season. McCool Junction trailed 13-8 after the first quarter. Roles were reversed at halftime with the Mustangs holding a 21-17 lead. The Raiders took the lead, 33-31, going into the fourth quarter, McCool Junction applied the defensive pressure and held off the Raiders for a 46-43 win.
Krayton Kucera put through a season-high 26 points against Giltner. Bayln Bargen and Nolan Ostdiek accounted for six points apiece. Clay Williams added four points. Toby Kotinek scored three points. Connor Janda sank a free throw for a point. Bargen, Kucera and Ostdiek produced six rebounds apiece. Toby Kotinek grabbed five rebounds. Janda and Williams snagged two rebounds each. Tyson Kotinek and Keaton Mazour landed a rebound each.

The Raiders host Kenesaw at Nelson Friday. Lawrence-Nelson visits Axtell Saturday. The Raiders host Deshler at Nelson Tuesday.
