On Thursday, Jan. 19, the Kansas Sampler Foundation (KSF) will be in Jewell County to report on the Big Kansas Road Trip (BKRT). Marci Penner, executive director, and WenDee Rowe, assistant director, will present at the Mankato Community Center starting at 5 p.m. and be available for questions on the upcoming event. Following the presentation, they will speak at the Jewell County Historical Society’s annual meeting, beginning at 7p.m.
Each year, the KSF picks a designated showcase area of three counties and invites the public to create their own adventures in the towns, cafes, attractions and even on scenic roads. Along with Jewell County, Republic and Smith counties will also be featured. This year, the BKRT will be held May 4 to 7. If you would like to learn more about the KSF or the BKRT, be sure to attend one of the community presentations, or contact Jewell County Community Development Coordinator, Kyra Lampe at [email protected] or (785) 378-7036.
