Firemen’s auxiliary delivers Christmas trays around town
Members of the Superior Volunteer Firemen’s Auxiliary delivered 110 Christmas trays to senior living centers in Superior this week.
Members gathered the ingredients for “Snowman’s Soup” - a dry mix to make hot cocoa, marshmallows and a candy cane.
An annual tradition is to select an FFA member, a member’s child or friend, to support by purchasing apples and oranges.
Each member then made six dozen homemade cookies.
Trays were assembled, typically with one orange, one apple, Snowman’s Soup, and five cookies - give or take a few.
Members then deliver the Christmas trays to local assisted living homes such as the Vestey Center, Superior Manor, Kingswood Court, The Victorian Legacy, Good Samaritan and Wilde Ridge Estates.
This year the group is rather small. “We have two other amazing women contribute goodies to add extra love to the baskets this year!” Erica Kenny, president said.
“As far as I know it is a long-standing auxiliary Christmas tradition of the past 30 years or more.” Kenny added.
Members are Kenny, Joleta Nondorf, Crystal Meyer, Amber Majors, Diane Littrel-Tate, Katrina Hansen and Diana Frietag.
