Gordon Kibbe, 93, died peacefully in hospice care in Redwood City, Calif., on October 29, 2022. He was born November 6, 1928, in Beloit, to Jake and Emma Kibbe of Randall. He was the first-born of five sons.
Gordon graduated in the Class of 1946 from Randall Rural High School, and attended Fort Hays State College and later earned an associate of arts degree from College of San Mateo. Gordon served in the Navy for four years and was honorably discharged in 1953.
In 1951, Gordon married his childhood sweetheart, Betty Gordanier. They moved to California as Gordon finished his military service. They remained in California as they raised their daughters, Cynthia and Julie, and Gordon had his career with United Airlines.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Kenneth and Jimmy; and grandson, Kyle Hughes. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Betty; their daughters, Cynthia Kibbe, and Julie (Joe) Hughes; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and brothers, Robert and Ronald.
The internment and memorial service were in Redwood City, California.
