Joseph "Joe" F. Calder, 87, of Lincoln, Neb., died Oct. 22, 2022. He was born on a farm near Hardy to Joseph J. and Tena (Jensby) Calder on June 13, 1935. Joe worked for many years as a civil engineer for the USDA, working on projects in Arizona, Montana and Nebraska. He enjoyed many hobbies including golfing, being outdoors, traveling, being a Husker fan, and most importantly he enjoyed time with family, especially participating in his grandchildren's many activities.
Family members include his wife of 66 years, Florence "Flo" Calder; sons Randy (Barbi) of Lincoln and Tim (Becky) of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild with another on the way in April; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Memories of Joe were shared at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 30, at Christ United Methodist Church, Lincoln. The Rev. Dr. Richard O. Randolph officiated. No visitation. Cremation took place. A livestream link is available for those not able to attend at facebook.com/christumclincfunerals.
