Love my crazy life

It’s been yet another crazy week, hence the title. We no longer have holes in our front porch, and the priming of the house has begun. I’m running out of days to paint, but I am hopeful the front porch area will be completed by the end of the month. It’s been so long since I picked out the paint colors that I was pleasantly surprised when I got them out of storage and took a peek.

By fixing the front porch floor, George acquired about three square feet of extra space in the barn. That was not exactly what he was hoping for, LOL! He is now working in the loft; he calls it the mother-in-law room! LOL. He plans to use it as an office-studio and an extra room for guests, and by doing so, many acquire a few more feet of square footage.

Jacob passed all his finals and said he is on track for platoon leader. I got a phone call from him on Thursday. It was so nice to hear his voice. It was to make travel arrangements for graduation and was supposed to be all business, but we chatted a bit when his DIs were paying attention to other recruits. He sounds like crap! He said it’s because all they do is scream all day.

I can’t wait to see him in November. We have our room reserved on base and our flights booked. Now we have to save money so we can eat while we are there. My cousin lives in San Diego, and we hope to see her for lunch or something while we are there. I have also made friends with a gal there whose son is in the same company as Jacob. We have been corresponding on Facebook since the boys left. I met her in a Military Mom group, and she has been a godsend.

All work and no play makes for a boring story, sorry for that, I will attempt to have some fun this week. X’s & O’s.
