The Rock Hills High school volleyball team went 3-4 for their past seven matches. The Grizzlies played Natoma and Tescott in a triangular match at Natoma Tuesday. Results were unavailable at press time.
They lost to Sylvan-Lucas 6-25 and 7-25, at the Pike Valley triangular last Tuesday They rebounded with a two-set sweep- 6-25 and 7-25, of Pike Valley at Scandia.
They were 2-3 at the Rock Hills Tournament at Mankato Saturday. The Grizzlies opened the tournament with a two-set, 25-17 and 25-12, sweep of Lincoln. The Republic County Buffaloes downed Rock Hills in a closely fought two-set match. 21-25 and 22-25. They topped Thunder Ridge 25-23 and 25-17 for a two-set win. Linn handed the Grizzlies a 14-25 and 20-25 loss. St. John’s-Tipton spoiled the Grizzlies day with a 13-25 and 21-25 win. The Grizzlies have a 7-14 record for the season.
Danica Frost recorded the lone Rock Hills kill against Sylvan-Lucas. There were no Grizzly aces scored. Ally Beck landed five digs. Austyn Groote and Hannah Simmelink registered three digs each.
Frost pounded three kills against Pike Valley. Halle Mizner posted two kills. Groote, Mizner, Aubree Whelchel and Lauren Whelchel had a kill each. Haley Garst sliced through four aces for the Grizzlies. Frost and Mizner snaked through three aces each. A. Whelchel scored with an ace. Beck, Frost, Groote, A. Whelchel and L. Whelchel collected a dig each.
L. Whelchel stepped up with seven kills against Lincoln. Mizner accounted for four kills. Groote was good for three kills. Frost listed two kills. Savannah Coil, Simmelink and A. Whelchel each had a kill. Simmelink led the ace charge with three. A. Whelchel sent through two aces. Garst and Mizner added an ace each. L. Whelchel had the lone dig for the match.
Frost notched three kills against Republic County. L. Whelchel took care of two kills. Mizner and Simmelink each had a kill. Frost lined through seven aces. A. Whelchel added two aces. Mizner scored with an ace. A. Whelchel cleaned up with four digs. Frost, Selena Luong and Groote contributed three digs apiece. Beck and Mizner each had a dig.
Frost closed out with five kills against Thunder Ridge. L. Whelchel was in with four kills. A. Whelchel put away two kills. Mizner and Simmelink had one kill each. Groote came through with three aces. Mizner slipped through two aces. Frost, Simmelink and L. Whelchel each scored an ace. Frost topped the Rock Hills diggers with five. Beck, Luong and A. Whelchel produced four digs apiece. Groote popped up three digs. Mizner and Simmelink had two digs each.
L. Whelchel tallied three kills against Linn. Frost, Groote, Mizner and A. Whelchel had a kill apiece. Mizner laced through three aces. A. Whelchel slashed through two, aces. L. Whelchel scored with an ace. Groote hit for six digs. Simmelink came up with five digs. Beck and A. Whelchel had two digs each. Frost and Garst had a dig each.
Whelchel went for the kill seven times against St, John’s-Tipton. Frost tallied five kills. Mizner nailed two kills. Frost and A. Whelchel each scored with an ace serve. Beck opened with seven digs. Simmelink collected four digs. Garst and Groote contributed three digs each. Frost, Luong, Mizner and L. Whelchel had one dig.
The Grizzlies visit Osborne, Tuesday, for a triangular match with Chase and Osborne.
