L-N volleyball has winning record

The Lawrence-Nelson High School volleyball team won their two matches at the Kenesaw triangular last Tuesday. The Raiders downed Harvard, 25-8 and 25-16, for a two-set sweep. They required three sets, 25-13, 17-16 and 28-26, to put away Kenesaw. The Shelton Bulldogs made short work of the Raiders, Thursday, at Shelton, with a three set, 9-25, 20-25 and 15-25, sweep. Lawrence-Nelson played Fillmore Central and Thayer Central at a triangular match hosted by Fillmore Central at Geneva. Match results were unavailable at press time.

Emily Troudt had four kills against Harvard. Josie Hajny, Claire Himmelberg and Hanna Skinner accounted for three kills each. Sydney Biltoft posted two kills. Vali Koehlerand Kara Menke each had a kill. Katelyn Mazour laced through five aces. Biltoft and Troudt sliced through three aces each. Addi McCloskey, Menke and Sole each scored with an ace. Skinner had an ace. Mazour and Sole had four digs apiece. Koehler, Menke and Skinner posted two digs each. Hajny, McCloskey and Troudt each had a dig.

Menke put away 13 kills against Kenesaw. Skinner listed six kills for the match. Biltoft added three kills. Himmelberg, Mazour and Troudt had two digs each.

Menke put up five kills against Shelton. Biltoft, Himmelberg, Mazour and Skinner registered three kills apiece. Troudt posted two kills. Hajny had a kill. Skinner scored the lone Raider ace for the match. Mazour led the diggers with 12. Menke kicked in 10 digs. Himmelberg and McCloskey contributed four digs each. Biltoft put in two digs. Sole and Troudt had a dig each.

The Raiders visit Roseland today (Thursday) for a match with Silver Lake. The Raiders visit Hastings Tuesday for the opening round of the Hastings St. Cecilia Tournament.
