Things are happening around Nelson this fall as the Community Club has a lot on its agenda.
Saturday, September 24 is the date for the Community Wide Garage Sales held from 9 to 3 at sites throughout Nelson. The UCC Thrift Store will also be open that day and will be hosting a bake sale. Copies of the vendor list are available at the Nelson C-Store.
There will also be a Goodwill Truck parked at Sandra’s Bookkeeping at 530 Main Street available from Sept. 22 to 29 for people to leave donations either left over from garage sales or for those inclined to clean out a closet or two.
Catholic Social Services will pick up items for donation at the East Wing of Cassell’s Day Care (formerly the Good Samaritan Home) available Sept. 24 through 27. Acceptable items will be posted on the door. Contact Nicole Cassell at 402-762-5014 for more information.
Sunday, September 25, volunteers will gather at the parking lot of Cassell’s Daycare at 12:30 to tackle several projects around town aimed at improving Nelson’s appearance. If you are interested in volunteering, show up and we will find a job for you.
November 11 is the date for Dueling Pianos, a fundraiser held jointly by the Community Club and Elk Creek Country Club. Funds raised will support the Community Club’s projects and ECCC’s new clubhouse currently under construction.
Funds have been raised and a digital message display sign has been ordered to be placed in front of City Hall. The two-sided sign will inform residents and those passing through Nelson of upcoming events and celebrations happening in our community.
The Nelson Community Club is committed to enhancing the lives of the Nelson community and surrounding area.
