The Superior High School girls golf team visited Grand Island last Tuesday for a dual match with Doniphan-Trumbull. The teams played a nine-hole match over the Indianhead Golf Course. The team played the Heartland Invitational Thursday at Henderson over the Galaway Golf course. Superior continued their stellar season with second place honors at the Fairbury Invitational Monday. Nine teams entered golfers at the event.
The Wildcats closed out Doniphan-Trumbull by 64 strokes. Superior came in with a team toal of 207 while the Cardinals checked in at 271. Hailey Blackstone carded a round of 48. Rayne Biltoft was in with a round of 52. Neah McMeen put up a round of 49. Nadia McMeen posted a round of 58. Lauren Tietjen toured the course with her round of 66.
Superior lost no momentum at the Heartland event as Blackstone and Biltoft took the top two medal spots. They both shot an 18-hole round of 87. Blackstone bested Biltoft on the second playoff hole. Neah McMeen took seventh place with her round of 101. Nadia McMeen closed out eighth place with her round in 109 strokes. Tietjen had her best round of the season with a 114.
Superior played the 18-hole Fairbuty Invite over the Fairbury Country Club Course. The 18-gole event was won by Class B Beatrice. Superior had a team total of 419. The four lowest scores comprise the team score. Biltoft was in fourth place with her round of 95. Blackstone followed in fifth place with her round of 98. Neah McMeen carded a round of 112. Nadia McMeen was in with a round of 114. Lauren Tietjen shot a round of 120.
The team travels to Minden, Friday, for the Minden Invitational being played over the Minden Country Club course. Superior travels to Fullerton, Tuesday, for the Fullerton Invitational to be played at the Pawnee Hills Golf Course.
