I sometimes wonder what other people do to celebrate Labor Day. In this family, we labor a little more. Typically the holiday weekend is used for preparing the yard for the fall and winter seasons. This year George and I decided to clean out the dungeon and put together a home gym.
The workout equipment was in an area of the garage, but with all the extra money pit supplies we have been collecting, there was not enough space to use it. We are not quite finished with the project, but we have made tremendous progress.
Unfortunately, three days focused on one project meant the rest of the house was neglected, and other projects were put on the back burner. I have a pile of dishes to wash and laundry to do before I can get back to anything else. A couple of weeks ago, I started the “oh so fun” task of scraping the peeling paint off the house. I hope to have the front painted before winter moves in, but at this rate, I will be lucky to have it scraped by then.
I got my first letter from Jacob this week, just a form letter saying he made it and is alive. He added, “Love and miss you all!” To say I miss him is an understatement, but I am adjusting. I haven’t made it into his room to clean it yet, but I will have to soon. At least I am not ugly crying at the mention of his name anymore. LOL. X’s & O’s.
