The Superior High School girls golf team continued to roll as they brought home a third place finish in a 10-team field at the Kearney Catholic Invitational played over the Meadowlark Hills Golf Course last Thursday. The match was an 18-hole event. Other teams at the match were Broken Bow, Kearney Catholic, Grand Island Central Catholic, St. Paul, Gothenberg, Cozad, North Platte St. Patrick’s’s, Sutton and Gibbon. Arcadia-Loup City, Ravenna and Doniphan-Trumbull did not field full teams but entered individual players.
The Wildcats finished with a team score of 423. Broken Bow took top honors with a round of 344. Broken Bow has won the past two state Class C championships.
Haley Blackstone led Superior with her round of 99. Neah McMeen carded a round of 103. Rayne Biltoft finished with a round of 107. Nadia McMeen had a round of 114. Lauren Tietjen posted a round of 120. The four lowest scores comprise the team total.
Blackstone finished in 13th place in the individual standings while Nadia McMeen was in 14th.
The Wildcats visit Grand Island’s Indianhead Golf Course for a match hosted by Doniphan-Trumbull Tuesday.
