So you thought noting happens in a small town

Those who think nothing ever happens in a small town should have been riding with an Express reporter shortly after lunch on Tuesday.

It seemed there was activity everywhere.

The Eighth Street sidewalk project is continuing. The old sidewalk had been removed and forms set to Bloom Street.

At Brodstone Memorial Healthcare, there was a portable scaffold with a man on apparently measuring the emergency entrance sign. It appears a new sign is about to be placed in the parking north of the hospital, and so many workers vehicles were parked on Tenth Street the street was reduced to one lane. From the street it appears good progress is being made on the multi-year hospital expansion project.

On north Washington Street a foundation preservation company had covered the windows of a home was digging up the front yard with a back hoe. Apparently, the work is associated with a basement wall stabilization project.

Montana Street was closed between Fourteenth and Fifteenth and heavy equipment was at work making improvement related to the Montana Villas housing project.

From North Louden Street, the reporter could see a large lift being used on a new home construction project.

On North Idaho street the replacement of a water main has entered the final stage.

At the Hilltop Car Wash it was evident an improvement project was underway.

There were several vehicles parked around a home on East Seventh and people was carrying stuff out of the house.

Also noticed Highway 14 safety markings had been repainted.

The above is only a small part of what was going on. The reporter was sent to area on another project and just noted the above as he reflected on what he saw.
