Members of the Superior High School Student Council have an array of activities scheduled to build spirit and involvement in homecoming.
Royal court candidates will be announced Monday at 3 p.m. at a school pep rally.
Each day has a theme with class competitions which earn points toward winning the spirit stick.
Monday is Neon Color Day. Three fourths of a shirt must be the following colors to count for points: freshmen- neon green, sophomores - neon pink, juniors - neon yellow and seniors - neon orange. If the class sponsor wears the appropriate color, the class receives an extra 10 points. The noon lunch competition Monday is a balloon pop requiring at least 20 students from each class.
Tuesday’s theme is Hippie Day with a hula hoop contest at noon.
Wednesday’s theme is Disco Ball Day. Clothing worn must have sparkles or sparkles have to be visible on the body. The lunch competition is hippy, hippy shake and take - a disco musical chairs.
Thursday is Jazzercise Day. Students are encouraged to wear 1970s workout gear which must include a headband. The lunch competition is hungry- hungry hippies.
Friday is Wildcat Spirit Day. To count toward spirit stick points all three school colors must be worn: red, white and black. The parents’ pep rally will be held at 1:36 p.m. in the school gymnasium. The class competition winners will be announced and the Spirit Stick presented.
The Wildcat football team will take on the Bruning-Davenport-Shickley Eagles at 7 p.m. at Brodstone Memorial Field. The coronation of the homecoming king and queen will follow the game.
The homecoming dance is scheduled between 10 p.m and 1 a.m. Doors will lock at 11:30 p.m. Pizza and snacks will be provided in the cafeteria.
The homecoming parade down Central Avenue is planned for 3 p.m. Friday.
