The Jewell County Conservation District conservation tour will be Wednesday, Sept. 7. At 1 p.m., the bus will be leaving the Jewell City Park. Participants can ride on the bus or follow in their own vehicle.
There will be more than $2,000 in door prizes, including drawing for cover crop seed, soil health kits, two winners for $500 in cover crop seed and one winner will receive $1,000 in cover crop seed.
The stops include:
Stop 1: Corbin Greene-Greene Family Farms near the intersection of 220 and K Road — cover crops and corn following cover crops.
Stop 2: Zach Bruns near the intersection of 200 and Y Road — Do It Yourself Solar Pump. Near the intersection of 160 and Ash Road —cover crop after wheat
Stop 3: Brett Walker near the intersection of 100 and Birch—— pasture condition after a fire and cedar control
Stop 4: Chad Simmelink from 60 and J Road, go 1/2 mile south, then west — pasture rotation using 11 paddocks
Stop 5: Jerry Birdsell near the intersection of 140 and D Road —cover crops
