One week left of Nelson couples' golf

It was just a little cooler Friday evening and a lot less humid when these ‘die-hard’ golfers teed off at the Elk Creek Country Club in Nelson. The golfers could choose only three clubs and golf their whole round.  The consensus was, “Golfers don’t need a putter to putt!”

The scores for the week ranged from a 37 to a high gross score of only 48 by Chuck and DeAnna Tuttle.  There was a 4-way tie for low net for the week with a 33 by Donnie and Peggy Cassell, Hunter Holland and Emily Wulf, Jim and Mary Farmer and Dorrel Lipker and Molly Drohman. Hunter H. found the alligator this week on No. 2 and was only 151” away.  Sally Uhrmacher had the longest putt on No.7 at 150” and Richard P. W. was the closest to the No. 9 green at 29”.

After 11 weeks of competition and only one week left, Cody and Crystal Wyatt are still hanging on to first place with 16 1/2 points.

Only one point behind and tied for second place are Craig German and Cindy Hewitt and Richard and Verlene Watson.

Tied for fourth place with 13 1/2 points are Jerry Bargen and Sally Uhrmacher and Joe Harwell and Jenny Simmons.

Sixth place with 11 1/2 points: Ken and Jan Rempe.

Seventh place with 11 points: Jim and Mary Farmer.

Eighth place with 9 1/2 points: Coke and Cindy Troudt.

Ninth Place with 8 1/2 points: Hunter Holland & Emily Wulf.

Tenth place with 8 points: Chuck and DeAnna Tuttle.

Eleventh place with 7 1/2 points: Rod and Sue Burge.

Twelfth place with 7 points: Royce and Brenda Schott.

Tied for last place with 6 points: Richard P.  and Heather Watson and Dorrel Lipker and Carla Jeardoe.

Grilled burgers and the extra sides were served to the golfers afterwards.

Friday evening is the last week of competition. The teams will be playing a par 3.
