I enjoy passing along little bits of information I find interesting and hope someone else does as well.

Reading the Sunday paper of the Lincoln Journal-Star, I read a story about the city of Omaha using “goats” to clear an area near the Missouri River of brush and weeds. It was an interesting little story and presented to the readers as something quite different and unique.

This isn’t to criticize the writer, or the story, but using goats to clear land is not new, nor unique. Goats have been used for years for such tasks and continue to be so used today. In fact the Department of Agriculture actively promotes such practices.

One little tidbit of new information I got out of the story was their statement that “in the year 2015, the state of Nebraska employed (rented) 1,000 goats for such work.

Live and learn.

Every so often I hear a TV news reporter, or a newspaper writer “hint” the current massive wave of immigrants coming across the southern border with Mexico is, at least partially, the fault of the Catholic Church. They say that because the church offers food, shelter and care for the immigrants, the church is the cause.

I haven’t seen where it is a prime story, but seems to be kept just under the big headlines as if the authors know why we’re having such a problem with all the illegal immigrants, and the church is behind it all.

I hope most people don’t even see these types of news reports, and many don’t. But just in case you’ve heard the stories and wondered what was true, look to the Democratic political party. It, and it alone, is the reason for the flood of illegal immigrants these past two years.

In the year and a half the Democrats have been in charge of the American government, we have had no border while the four years before, the Republican political party had a much better control of the situation.

The Catholic Church spends untold amounts of money to assist the poor, and that is what so many of the immigrants are. They spend even more time, effort and money on the spiritual needs of the immigrants.

When you approach the election boxes this November, don’t let the liberal media convince you if your candidate is a Republican or a Catholic, he or she will only cause more confusion and lawlessness.

No, especially when it comes to the southern border, it is the Democrats and the Democrats alone who have caused the problem and then refuse to do anything to solve the problem.

The words “Democrat” or “Republican” behind a name on an election ballot is no longer a good enough reason to vote for that person. A voter needs to know more about the person.

However, with the many options we have in America when selecting someone to vote for, I feel a lot better voting Republican if I know nothing much about any candidate.
