Lee Campbell Williams, 74, died July 21, 2022. He was born on Nov. 4, 1947, in the Burrough of Buffalo, town of Flushing, New York.
Mmost of his growing up years he lived in Park Ridge, New Jersey, close to New York City where his father worked. Right out of high school, Lee enlisted in the Air Force for four years. He operated heavy equipment in Viet Nam and at a military base in Spain. After marrying his first wife in Spain, he came back to New Jersey where he was a licensed journeyman electrician.
Moving to Boulder, Colo., with his wife, Maria, and young son, David, Lee continued working as an electrician at various places in Colorado. After a divorce, he started working in Steamboat Springs Colo., where he met Jacque Wheeler, his future wife They had two boys, Bret and Jesse.
After a year in Ringwood, New Jersey working in a landscaping business, Lee and Jacque decided the city life wasn’t for them. They moved to Jewell to raise their children and be close to Jacque’s parents, Marjorie and Orell Wheeler.
Although Lee had various jobs over the years, his favorite job was being with the children as a school custodian and bus driver in Jewell and Mankato.
After a couple of shoulder injuries and beginning to suffer from the effects of the exposure to Agent Orange in Viet Nam, Lee retired early and enjoyed mowing lawns and time with his grandsons.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys Myrta (Ingalsbe) Williams and Laurence Lovering Williams, Jr.; and a brother, Allan Williams.
He is survived by a sister, Lynn Ware; brother, Scott Williams, his wife Jacque; three sons: David Williams-Escosa, Bret Williams and Jesse Williams; and grandchildren: Max and Rylee Escosa, Raphael and Kolter Williams.
