It was a hot evening but that didn’t keep these die-hard golfers away. Friday evening the Elk Creek Country Club couples’ summer golf league met in Nelson for their seventh week of competition. This week the men teed off the even holes and the women on the odd holes.
Coke and Cindy Troudt and Richard P. and Heather Watson came in with a low net score of 33. Jim and Mary Farmer had a high gross score of 52. Cody and Crystal Wyatt took a 9 on the par 4 No.7 and Donnie and Peggy Cassell took a 9 on the par 4 No. 8 for the most over.
Cindy Trout’s second shot on No. 1 was the closest to the green and not on. Jerry Bargen had the longest putt on No. 3 at 18’ 2” and Peggy C’s drive on No. 5 was the closest to the weather vane.
Thus after seven weeks of competition Richard and Verlene Watson moved up to first place with their two additional points tying them with Cody and Crystal Wyatt with 10 points each.
