The Rock Hills High School boys and girls track and field teams competed at the Tescott Invitational last Tuesday. The girls team was in 11th place, with 14 points, in the 13 team field of Goessel, Saline, Wakefield, Lincoln, Tipton, Pike Valley, Sylvan United, Central Plains, Solomon, Tescott, Natoma, Southern Cloud and Wilson. The boys team finished in eighth place, with 28 points, in the 12 team field. Wilson did not field a boys team.
The Grizzlies hosted the Rock Hills Invitational at Mankato Friday. The boys team finished in 10th place, with 14 points, in the 14 team field of Hanover, Washington County, Smith Center, Stockton, Lakeside, Thunder Ridge, Linn, St. John's, Pike Valley, Tipton Catholic, Republic County, Northern Valley and Southern Cloud. The girls team was in 10th place with 24 points.
Grace Ayers was in fifth place in the girls 100 meter dash at the Tescott meet with her time of 13.72 seconds. Ayers posted a time of 29.57 seconds.
Hannah Simmelink had a time of 1:16.08 for the 400 meter dash.
Lauren Whelchel cleared 4'6" for 5th place in the high jump. She cleared 7' for the pole vault. Ayers grabbed fourth place in the long jump with her leap of 14'4.25".
Faith Reinert had a best toss of 25'10" in the shot put.
Jada Beach had a discus throw of 52'2".
Raylynn Anders threw the javelin 55'10".
Wyatt Evert had a preliminary heat of 12.27 second in the 100 meter dash. Kit Wagner turned in a time of 12.34 seconds.
Isaiah Ridgeway nabbed fifth place in the 200 meter dash with his time of 24.33 seconds. Camden Ward ran a preliminary heat in 25.13 seconds.
Wagner listed a time of 59.09 seconds for the 400 meter dash.
Trystyn Reynolds recorded a time of 5:22.55 for the 1600 meter run. Reynolds was in fourth place in the 3200 meter run with his time of 12:03.44.
Ward put up of a time of 48.93 seconds for the 300 meter hurdles.
The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Ridgeway, wagner, Evert and Nate Meyers was in fifth place with their time of 47.44 seconds.
Ward picked up third place points in the high jump with his height 5'8".
Ridgeway held third place in the pole vault with a bar clearing height of 9'6".
Nate Meyers was in third place in the long jump with his leap of 18'3.5".
Evert had a best toss of 36'10.5". he finished in fifth place in the discus with his throw of 108'.1". Zach Gurka had a best throw of 66'7".
Ayers landed fourth place points in the 100 meter dash at the Rock Hills Invite with her time of 14.08 seconds. Groote ran a preliminary heat in 15.13 seconds.
Ayers was in eighth place in the 200 meter dash with her time of 29.7 seconds. Simmelink had a time of 32.47 seconds.
The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Groote, Whelchel, Simmelink and Ayers were in fourth place with their time of 56.13 seconds.
Reinert had a best toss of 28'5.5" for the shot put.
Reinert had a throw of 85'7" for the discus. Groote had a throw of 63'6".
Anderes had a javelin throw of 68'.
Whelchel took sixth place in the high jump with her height of 4'6". Anderes was in seventh place with the height of 4'4".
Whelchel added a fourth place finish in the pole vault at 8"
Ayers was sixth in the long jump with her leap of 15'2.5". Simmelink was at 13'1.5".
Wagner ran a preliminary heat of 12.5 seconds for the 100 meter dash.
Ridgeway had a preliminary heat of 25.26 seconds in the 200 meter dash. Ward had a heat of 25/65 seconds.
Reynolds scooped up the fifth place points in the 1600 meter run with his time of 5:16.75. Reynolds held third place in the 3200 meter run with his time of 12.18.01.
Ward was in fourth place in the 200 meter hurdles with his time of 45.04 seconds.
The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Ridgeway, Wagner, Evert and Meyers were in sixth place with their time of 47.56 seconds.
Evert had a best toss of 38'.5" for the shot put. Underwood had a toss of 35.4.5".
Evert was in seventh place in the discus with his throw of 109.'5". Underwood recorded a throw of 94'3".
Wagner posted a javelin throw of 85'2".
Ward was good for fifth place points in the high jump with his height of 5'6". Ridgeway cleared 5'.
Ridgeway took fifth place in the pole vault with his height of 9'6".
Meyers grabbed second place in the long jump with a leap of 21". Wagner had a leap of 18'6".
The Grizzlies host the Northern Plains League meet at Mankato today (Thursday).
