The Lawrence-Nelson boys varsity and junior varsity teams competed at the Twin Valley Conference match at Franklin Friday, the match was rescheduled from Thursday because of inclement weather,
The varsity team tied for first place in the six team field o Blue Hill, Deshler, Franklin, Silver Lake and Red Cloud. The Raiders posted a team score of 379. The match was an 18- hole event.
Toby Kotinek was in second place in the individual standings with his round of 85. Krayton Kucera took fifth place with his round of 94. Wyatt Brockman posted a round of 98 for eighth place. Connor Janda and Wyatt Hajny each carded a round of 101. The four lowest scores comprise the team total.
Bayln Bargen led the junior varsity filed with his round of 91. Clay Williams was in at 108. Theodore Kathman had a round of 110. Trev Mueller was in with a round of 112. Carson Vaughn had a round of 124.
The Raiders compete for places at the state tournament at Kearney when they travel to Grand Island for the District D-1 match being played over the Indianhead Golf Course.
Other teams looking to secure berths at the event are Axtell, Bruning-Davenport-Shickley, Blue Hill, Deshler, Elm Creek, Exeter-Milligan, Franklin, Friend, Lewiston, Loomis, Red Cloud, Silver lake, Thayer Central and Wilcox-Hildreth.
