Jacqueline "Jackie" Wyatt

Jacqueline Lea Wyatt, the daughter of Thomas and Eleanor (Karnatz) Duncan, was born on May 24, 1939, in Nelson, Neb. She died on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital at Superior, Neb., at the age of 82 years, 10 months, 6 days.

Jackie attended kindergarten in Clay Center, Neb., then the rest of her years at Superior graduating from Superior High School. She was a 25-year member of the Baptist Church in Superior, being baptized by the Rev. Crandall. She was married to Albert "Toby" Arthur Wyatt on June 30, 1956, at Superior. To this union five children were born.

They traveled to many areas in Nebraska and different states as Toby harvested and worked construction. Living in Minnesota for two years, then back to the Superior area making their home in Cadams for 46 years. She was employed with the US Postal Service in 1965, being the first woman postal carrier in Nuckolls County, retiring in 1992. Upon retirement, she found employment at DC's North Forty, for seven years.

In their retirement years, Jackie and Toby made wooden lawn ornaments. She would hand paint designs on hand saws, made beaded jewelry and crocheted throws. She had an extensive collection of Native American artifacts, that was collected over the years, along with a crystal animal collection. Her family and friends have contributed to many of her collection items.

She enjoyed going to dog races with their greyhounds and liked to camp and fish with the family. Jackie also enjoyed time putting puzzles together with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Eleanor; husband, Albert on Jan. 29, 2002; infant son, Toby Lee, sisters, Wilma Lou Duncan and Patricia Case.

She is survived by her children: Peggy (Craig) Jones of Milford, Neb .; Alan (Jennifer) Wyatt of Superior; Valli Wyatt of Guide Rock; and Loren Wyatt of Deloras, Colo .; six grandchildren: Amber Greene, Cody Wyatt, Damian Duffy, Toby Jones, Aaron Jones, and Reyetta Hubbs. Nine great-grandchildren: Sadie and Kinley Greene, Lily and Cady Wyatt, Riley, Ryan and Adrianna Jones, and Barrett and Nora Jones; her brother Donald (Melinda) Duncan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Her funeral was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2022, from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Natalie Faust officiating.

Recorded songs were "Seven Spanish Angels," "Holes In The Floor of Heaven," "Jealous of the Angels," "In The Garden" and "A Closer Walk With Thee."

Visitation was held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 to 8.

Pallbearers were Cody Wyatt, Damian Duffy, Toby Jones, Aaron Jones, Nathan Greene, Alan Edwards and Kenny Grabast. Honorary pallbearers were Crystal Wyatt, Jackie Duffy, Katie Jones, Amber Greene, Reanna Jones and Reyetta Hubbs.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Neb.

Memorials are suggested to go to the family.
