Norma Belle Bargen, the daughter of Thomas P. and Estella Harkins McKeown, was born on May 4, 1926, on a farm near Webber, Kan. She died March 4, at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital at Superior, at the age of 95 years, 10 months.
Norma was a Superior High School graduate. She was a 75-year member of the Salem Lutheran Church and was employed at the Nuckolls County ASCS office in Nelson until her retirement.
She was united in marriage to Donald Bargen on Oct. 19, 1947, at the Methodist Church in Superior. To this union two children were born.
She enjoyed quilting, china painting and working word puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Estella; husband, Donald on Aug. 18,2018; her sister, Helen Joy McKeown; and her brother, Keith McKeown.
Norma is survived by her son, Thomas, and wife, Patricia, of Nora; and daughter, Carla Proctor, and husband, Ardell, of Pueblo, Colo .; two grandchildren, Julie Murdoch and husband, Wes, of Murdock, Neb., and Brad Bargen and wife, Tammy, of Nora; four great-grandchildren, Grace and John Murdoch and Kimber and Case Bargen; and her sister, Phyliss Hurd of Mankato; along with a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
A private family service will beheld Saturday, March 12, at Megrue-Price Funeral Home with Pastor Ethan Feistner officiating. Music selections will be "Old Rugged Cross" and "Amazing Grace." Interment will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery, near Superior.
Visitation for friends will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday at the Megrue-Price Funeral Home.
