Rock Hills Students invited to submit business plans for E-Fair

E-Fair helps understand importance of entrepreurship

On Friday, March 25, Jewell County Community Development will hold the Annual Entrepreneurship (E-Fair) at Rock Hills. This is the first time the event will be held in person since 2019. To help students understand the importance of entrepreneurship, Rock Hills Junior-Senior High English classes are now requiring students to write business plans as part of their curriculums. Students are encouraged to submit these business ideas as entries to the E-Fair. Students are also welcomed to submit business plans that were previously utilized for FBLA, FFA or 4-H projects. Entries can be a mix of existing businesses or startups. Jewell County Community Development presented to Rock Hills students about the upcoming event and why entrepreneurship is important in rural communities. The presentation highlighted how small businesses are often the backbone of communities and entrepreneurship is a great way to build a life in rural places. Students were advised to develop business ideas that provided a needed service to their community.

Students who would like to participate, are to submit a 3 to 5 page business plan to either [email protected] or klampe@jenrus freelance.com by Monday, March 21. Oral presentations will follow on Friday, March 25 at Rock Hills High School. For more information, contact Jewell County Community Development at jccda@ nckcn.com or give them a call at (785) 454-1194.
