She Shed 402 Candles opening this weekend in downtown Superior

SHE SHED

The She Shed 402 Candles and More, another new business in downtown Superior will be holding a grand opening on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown Superior.

The business operated by Nikki Felmlee is located in the New Horizons building at 317 Central Avenue.

The speciality shop which will be open on Saturdays will feature a variety of drinks and baked goods along with hand poured candles and gift items.

A Superior High School graduate, Felmlee returned to Superior last year after living several years in Colorado.

Since pouring her first candles nearly 10 years ago, she had perfected the art. She now has a number of interesting candle containers and each candle features a wood wick. The wicks help the candles to have a bigger flame and each is said to burn pretty. Felmlee tells her customers "If you like candles you will love these." All are heavily scented.

The downtown space she is occupying has a history of being a food place and she hopes to add to that history. There are places for the customers to sit, visit and enjoy the variety of drinks and baked goods that will be offered. The business has a cottage food bar certificate which means the baked goods offered for sale will be prepared elsewhere. The drink menu will include fruit punches along with hot and iced drinks. Customers will be able to utilize a free WiFi connection.

The merchandise offering will include home decor, refurbished furniture, jewelry, wall decor, Christian signs, throw blankets, bags and purses. Many of the items offered will make great gifts.

Sara Kirchhoff will have an area in which to market her printed shirts and other items.

Future plans include an area stocked with toys so youngsters can play while their mother shops or visits with friends.

There will be a monthly kids' night at which time youngsters can come in for a snack and craft time. Reservations will be needed for this feature.

While shop hours will be limited, customers may call and make appointments for other times.

Felmlee isn't a newcomer to this type of business. She has previous experience with a similar business that was located in the former Beaverville School House about five miles north of Superior. Now she is excited to have a convenient, downtown location.
