Eileen (Schiermeyer) Weber of Adams died Jan. 19, 2022, at the age of 93 years and 5 months. Eileen was born near Superior, Neb., on Aug. 25, 1928, to W.J. (Bill) and Martha (Grummert) Schiermeyer. She graduated from Nelson High School in 1946. On April 18, 1959, Eileen was married to her husband of 61 years, Alvin G. Weber; they raised three children.
Eileen taught country school near Oak, Neb., was employed by Hested's in Superior, worked as a telephone operator and at State Farm Insurance in Lincoln and Goldcrest Retirement Center in Adams. She was a devoted mother and homemaker on the family farm. She enjoyed genealogy, stamp and coin collecting, sewing and crocheting, reading and keeping her mind active completing the daily crossword and Sudoku puzzles. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, rural Superior, where she was baptized, confirmed and married. While working in Lincoln, she helped organize the Lutheran Business Girls and served as president. After her marriage, Eileen joined Living Life Reformed Church in Firth, Neb., where she volunteered as church librarian for many years and enjoyed visits by young children.
Eileen is survived by her children: Charles Weber, Curtis Weber and Carolyn Weber; grandchildren: Josh (Kelsey) Weber, Kala (Trevor) Harling, Joel Odum, Jonathon (Marissa) Odum, Becca Odum, and Zach Odum; four great-grandchildren: Haley, Sadie, Karson and Kellen; brother, Gerald (June) Schiermeyer, sister in law, Della Schiermeyer; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin on June 21, 2020; her brother, Harvey Schiermeyer; and her sister and brother- in-law, Viola and Pastor Phil Houston.
