Travel Bloggers plan to visit Mankato

Two young women, hired by the US Highway 36 Association, will be spending one day in Mankato and surrounding areas. Sarah Broers and Melody Pittman are the bloggers and they will then publish their experience on their blog “Wherever I May Roam.”

Meals have been scheduled for the women. Saturday lunch will be at Sweden Creme, Saturday dinner at Buffalo Roam and Sunday breakfast at Bob’s of Mankato.

At the annual Mankato Chamber of Commerce meeting, a number of places were discussed about where the bloggers should visit while in the area. A list of suggested places include Jewell County Museum and the ‘Old Jail’; Mankato City Park, swimming pool and walking trail; golf course; Jewell State Lake; Lovewell Lake; Methodist Church (revitalized pipe organ); Ute Theatre; Mankato downtown businesses.

The bloggers will be in Mankato on a Saturday, so it was suggested downtown businesses to be open in the morning that day.

It is suggested the bloggers tour the downtown businesses in the morning.
