The Lawrence-Nelson boys basketball team lost a heartbreaker in overtime, 40-39, to Shelton at Nelson last Tuesday. The Raiders competed at the Hershey High School Holiday Tournament Tuesday and Wednesday with game results unavailable at press time.
Poor field goal shooting, nine percent, in the final two quarters and the overtime period doomed the Raiders. Lawrence-Nelson held a 23-12 lead at the half. Shelton kept nibbling away and outscored the Raiders over the final two quarters, 23-11, to force overtime. This was the third loss of the season against three wins for the Raiders,
Krayton Kucera dropped through five three point shots on his way to 21 points to lead the Raider offense. Logan Menke put 10 points on the score board. Conner Janda hit for three points. Bayln Bargen and Tyson Kotinek added two points each. Nolan Ostdiek sank a free throw for one point.
The Raiders travel to McCool Junction, Tuesday, for a game.
