Betty June (Thomas) Sybert, 93, of Savannah, Mo., died Dec. 24, after 36 years of fighting and beating five different cancers.
Betty was born on June 22, 1928, to Nora and Rex Thomas.
Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church, Savannah, Mo. Her faith and love for God carried her through life's ups and downs. Betty loved her family and friends and enjoyed time with them.
She grew up in the Clarksdale area and graduated from Fredericksburg High School in Fredericksburg, Texas. Moving back to Missouri, she married Marion Sybert and later divorced. She retired from St. Joseph Light and Power after more than 20 years of service.
She is survived by her brother, Bill (Barb) Thomas - Mankato, and her four children, Kay Jewett of St. Joseph, Danny (Carrie) Sybert, of Savannah, Charles (Carol) Sybert of Cameron, and Joyce (Harold) Morgan
of Savannah; 10 granddaughters; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth (Harlin) Jensen and Darlene
(Robert) Woerner; and son-in-law, Harold Jewett.
The family will receive friends 1 to 2:30 p.m., today (Thursday) Dec. 30, at First Baptist Church - 500 E Pawnee, Savannah, Mo. Her funeral will follow after visitation at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church. The burial will follow in the Savannah Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church, 500 E Pawnee, Savannah, Mo 64485.
Arrangements are under the direction of Breit & Hawkins Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Three Rivers Hospice for their care of the family at their time of need.
