The Jewell County commissioners Brent Beck, Steve Greene and Keith Roe met Dec. 13, with Carla J. Waugh, county clerk, present for the meeting.
They approved signing the 2022 Employment Rules and Regulations for all Jewell County Departments unanimously.
Kevin Peroutek, noxious weed director, emergency preparedness director and 911 coordinator, discussed the LEPC meeting and updating the Emergency Operations Plan.
Cindy Becker, health administrator, provided a report on the vaccine clinic they provided. She reported that the Rock Hills School Board is reviewing modified quarantine protocols at their special meeting today.
Joel Elkins, general superintendent, discussed maintenance. Commissioners approved a waterline agreement with Republic County Rural Water District 1 to construct and operate a water line across public road right of way 260 Road at a point beginning 300 feet north of S Road and 260 Road intersection.
Shannon Meier, ambulance director, discussed pay scale.
Commissioners approved the 2022 Commissioner’s Calendar.
The Jewell County commissioners along with the county clerk attended the multi-county meeting hosted by Osborne County. Mitchell, Jewell, Osborne, Smith, and Rooks counties were present for the meeting. Anna Porter, county appraiser, provided data on 2022 land values. She explained the procedures for calculating dryland and grass. She also discussed the residential property valuation increase because of increasing market demand. The commissioners discussed ARPA Funding allowable expenditures. Sherry Koster, sanitarian, provided financial reports for January through November 2021. The next meeting will be hosted by Smith County on Feb. 28.
