Book Walk coming to Mankato

Thanks to an ARPA Grant, funded by the State Library of Kansas and the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Mankato City Library has planned a Book Walk.

Ground was broken last Wednesday for this project. The pedestals were installed on Thursday. There are plans for a ribbon cutting in the spring. The Book Walk will also start in the spring.

The pedestals with frames have been installed behind the courthouse. When the Book Walk begins, children's books will be taken apart and the pages will be laminated and placed in the frames. The books had to be purchased in pairs because it was needed to use both the front and back of the pages. The plan is to switch the books out monthly.

More information about this project will come later!
