Corey Scott

Corey Lee Scott, 46, of Ashland, Neb., died Thursday, Dec. 2, at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha. He was born April 21, 1975 in Heidelberg, Germany to Daniel and Terry (Thompson) Scott. Corey graduated from Superior High School in 1993 and received a bachelor's degree from Creighton University in Omaha. On May 31, 2003, Corey was united in marriage to Jada Zeilinger.

Corey worked as a project manager for Ameritas in Lincoln, Neb. Prior to working for Ameritas, he worked 25 years for TD Ameritrade as a project manager. He was president of the Lower Platte Pheasants Forever Chapter and a member of the Lower Platte Archery Club.  Corey was an Eagle Scout and a Cub Scout leader. He spent his life loving his family and the outdoors. 

He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Jada Scott; children, Samuel, Addison, Case and Cash; his trio of hunting dogs; Kitty,  Mae and June; parents, Daniel and Terry Scott; brother, Troy (Becky) Scott; grandma, Wanda Thompson; nieces and nephews, Aubree and Boone Scott, Andie and Ty Coshow and Ryann Shaw; parents-in-law, Ray and Beth Zeilinger; sisters-in-law, Dorian Zeilinger and Sony (Timothy) Shaw; many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Billie Thompson, Kenneth and Betty Scott; his first beloved pair of hunting dogs, Brit and Sadie.

His funeral is at 10:30 a.m., today (Thursday) Dec. 9, at United Methodist Church, 1442 Adams St., Ashland.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, all at the church.
