The Rock Hills Cross Country team ran the regional meet at Centralia Lake on Saturday. Ninety young men lined up to run the course on a cool Saturday morning. Freshman, Trystyn Reynolds placed 39th running the course in 20:35. Freshman Kobi Bowers placed 44th finishing the race in 20:52. Senior Kit Wagner finished his senior season with a season best of 23:40 placing 78th.
Even though the Rock Hills team did not individually qualify for state this year, the future is bright for the Rock Hills Cross Country team. Coach Richard Cox said, "We knew going into it this would be a deep and talented regional field for both the girls and the boys. It was that and more. Season endings are always bittersweet. This one hits home for me as these seniors have invested so much time and effort and loyalty to this great sport. As much as you might have gained something useful in life from cross country, just know that you gave more than that back to me. I have been blessed to work with you. Team, thank you for the hard workouts, the fun workouts, the Saturday mornings and the like. Fans and parents...you all are awesome! Thanks for the support."
