Lady Raider finish regular season with 15-14 record

The L-N Lady Raiders finished the regular season of volleyball last week with a victory over Franklin. The 3-0 win gave the girls a won/loss record of 15 wins, 14 losses on the season. They prepare to play in the Sub-District tournament this week.

The Franklin game, however, looked good. Different team members stepped up in different categories to complement each other and secure the win. For example:

Attacking: Emma led the team with 11 Kills as she was good on 20-24 attempts; she was closely followed by Kara Menke with 21 of 23 good hits for 7 kills and was matched by 7 kills for Aleah on 13 of 18 good hits. As a team, L/N led Franklin with 31 kills to 18 for Franklin.

Serving: Good serving sure helps win games and L-N had 8 ace serves compared to 3 for Franklin. Katelyn led the team with 3 aces on 22 of 23 attempts. Emma had 2, Aleah 2 and Hanna 1.

Blocking: Not a strong point all season, blocking was good in this game with Sydney and Emma each having solo blocks and seven assist between them. Kara had the other assist.

Assists: Katelyn had 15 assists and Emma 6.

Serve Receptions: Only three errors were made by the Raiders. Aleah had 15 receptions; Hanna 14 and Elsa 13.

It was a good win to end the regular season and start the playoffs.
