Love my crazy life

What a week! I feel like I have accomplished nothing! I’ve been running around like a chicken with my head cut off and making no progress with anything. Yesterday I had planned on getting the house cleaned up, and between work, errands, and my lack of organization, I managed to make a bigger mess of things.

I found time to do my nails last night, which makes me feel ever so much better about my lot in life. It’s funny how something so simple as painting your nails or getting a haircut can make you feel so much better about yourself. No matter how much I scrub, my nails always seem to be icky and dirty from the extra work I do. I try to keep them polished, so it is not as noticeable. Most everyone knows I’m a writer by day, but not everyone knows I’m a construction worker by night! Lol.

We haven’t done much at the money pit this week. By “week,” I mean Monday to Thursday. Most days, I work at least a few hours down there on something, but it’s been too cold in the evenings for the things I am doing. I would hate to go to all that work and have it fall off the ceiling one night at dinner. Hopefully, soon we will have the furnace up and running. I hate using space heaters, so if I don’t have to, I won’t. They scare me.

George will be going down today to finish up the windows and the door so we can be all warm and cozy once the heat is on. I will likely be on the ladder attempting to cover the windows. I would rather cover them from the inside but have to keep reminding myself that I can’t because I have to paint. I started to cover a window downstairs and thought, what are you doing, dummy! I’m a bit of a scatterbrain once in a while—That’s not news to anyone. One of these years, soon, we will need to blow in insulation. I have yet to see much of that! So the first winter, maybe two, might be chilly. Especially for Jacob because he just had to have to the north bedroom on the second floor.

Tonight marks another last for me as a mom. Tonight is the last football game of the regular season. X’s & O’s.
